- A new UNICEF year has begun!
- This meeting served as an introduction to UNICEF for all new members and an outline for this year to come for all former members. Our club is comprised of 3 goals which, in their simplest form, are to educate, advocate, and fundraise until we get to a world where zero children are lost to preventable causes. Believing in zero is are central focus throughout the year.
- Educate- educate fellow members, your community, and yourself about UNICEF's lifesaving work and the obstacles that children face so that we can determine the most effective ways to combat them.
- Advocate- communicate UNICEF's message on social media and the general public to make sure that child survival is at the forefront of the agendas. Publicize and represent UNICEF in a positive light.
- Fundraise- raise funds in our school and community to go towards UNICEF's global mission. Many of the fundraising strategies and ideas are sponsored for us by the United Nations Children's Fund, themselves, such as the Tap Project and TOT 4 UNICEF.
- If you haven't already, be sure to check out our "Lead" page on this website to get to know who you're officers, adviser, and representative are this year. Feel free to reach out to any of us with any questions, comments, or concerns.
- If you are interested in taking up a leadership position this year, you're in luck! UNICEF is offering many opportunities for you to get more involved. Towards the end of the year, seats will be open for the new UNICEF Leadership Symposium, open to members and officers alike. If you stay committed to the club, you may be interested in applying to be a National Council Member for High School Club's who get to travel across the world representing UNICEF. More information to come on these positions.
- Sophomores and Freshmen- our class representative positions are currently vacant! We will be releasing applications for the spots at the next meeting, on December 1, for you to submit. This is a great opportunity for you to better your leadership skills and contribute your ideas to the club. Applications will also be available on our website under "Lead" by the next meeting.
- Next meeting: Tuesday, December 1. We will be getting right down to business by partnering with student's rebuild to make paper pinwheels. For each pinwheel created, $2 will be donated towards benefiting Syrian refugees caught in the violence, so the more pinwheels, the merrier.
