- Passed out Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF boxes. If you did not receive one, you may pick them up anytime the rest of this week from the Main Office. In a nutshell, on Halloween night you (or your siblings or friends) carry one of our famous collection boxes and collect small change donations as you go door to door. The rest of the weekend, you may procure more funds through any method you see fit, and boxes will be due the following Monday, Nov 3 to Room 701. It is absolutely vital that you get the boxes to us on time so that we can send the money in time. If you are a Key Clubber, extra perks for you! Kiwanis is a partner of the United Nations Children's Fund so you can earn up to 2 service hours if you raise $10.
- Before you go out on Halloween, all participants are strongly encouraged to brush up on some basic UNICEF facts as there is a good chance you will face some questioning. The file attached below (despite being a little cheesy!) should prepare you very well for the program.
This, our third meeting, was the last one before our fall fundraiser, Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF. We covered a lot of topics so here's a quick recap of everything:
- Made sure everyone had signed up for UNICEF's remind updates. If you haven't already, you can join right now by texting @b0205 to (440) 397-4469.
- Took a tour of our club website: the Blog tab is where we post the meeting overviews, the Join tab is where you can find our next meeting date, and the Donate sub-heading under the About tab is how you can get to our school fundraising page. Our Crowdrise page is managed by the United Nations Children's Fund organization so this is how they will receive the money we raise throughout the year.
- Event Planner applications are now due on November 3 to Ms. Barba or Rubab who are both in Rm 701 first period. Applications are posted on our "First Meeting" post at the bottom of this page.
- There's nothing like t-shirts to unite a club, and our design for this year has now been finalized. The price is going to be $13.05 and the payment will be due on December 4. We'll discuss it more at our next meeting, as well. Here's a sneak preview:
